MARRAKECH AND MAGIC OF THE DESERT – 8 DAYS

Marrakech and Magic of the Desert - 8 days

Day 1: Marrakech Airport – Marrakech (20 minutes approx. depending on the traffic)

At your arrival in Marrakech airport, our driver will be meeting you for a welcome and transfer to the Hotel. Leisure time for the rest of the day. Overnight at your hotel.

Day 2: Full Day City Tour of Marrakech

Discover the magic of Marrakech, a city bursting with color, energy and centuries of history. Begin in the heart of the Medina, where narrow alleys lead to vibrant souks filled with spices, handicrafts and textiles. Visit architectural gems like the majestic Bahia Palace and the iconic Koutoubia Mosque (exterior) & visit of Majorelle Gardens — a heaven of exotic plants, fountains and vibrant cobalt blue architecture. Lunch at a local restaurant. Step into the elegant Dar El Bacha — Musée des Confluences, a beautifully restored palace showcasing Moroccan art, culture and global influences — with an optional stop at its renowned café. Continue your journey with a cultural encounter at a traditional public oven (ferran), where locals still bake their daily bread and witness the work of a fernatchi, the keeper of the wood-fired furnace that heats the neighborhood hammam. End the day in the bustling Jemaa el-Fna square, alive with snake charmers, storytellers, street food and local performers — a true sensory experience and a perfect snapshot of Marrakech’s soul. Overnight at your hotel. Meals: Breakfast & Lunch.

Day 3: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Zagora (7 hours drive approx. excluding stops)

The Sahara is the largest desert in the world. The Moroccan Sahara covers a huge expanse on its own and it would not be possible to cover all this region in a short break or holiday. But the 2 days private desert tour from Marrakech offers you to experience the Zagora region at a glance. The tour is ideal for those staying in Marrakech short on time, but absolutely must see some of the desert. When in the desert you will enjoy the magic of a camel trek among the sand dunes of Zagora and a night under the stars in your very own Sahara desert camp. Each way the drive from Marrakech to Zagora will last around seven hours. However, the stunning scenery along the way will make this journey worth it. This is because the journey takes us through the High Atlas Mountain range and the jaw-dropping scenery of the Tizi Ntichka Pass. This breath-taking route will take us up to altitudes of 2260 meters. You will see just why so many fascinating movies were shot and filmed in locations around here. Among the highlights of this tour will be the opportunity to visit a Berber village. Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou is world-renown for its Kasbah. The marketplace is like taking a trip back in time and is a World Heritage Site. Overnight at your Camp. Meals: Breakfast & Dinner.

Day 4: Zagora to Marrakech (7 hours drive approx. excluding stops)

The drive will take the roads through the Draa Valley. Dotted along the way through this special landscape are many small fortified villages. There are palm trees, sand dunes and meandering rivers that glisten under the hot Saharan sun. There are even occasional oases where you can take pictures and pose for selfies on this magical journey.
Another part of this tour includes a visit to the magical city of Ouarzazate: place of the fascinating Taourirt Kasbah. Continue then through Tichka pass to Marrakech. Overnight at your hotel. Meals: Breakfast.

Day 5: Cooking Class in Marrakech

Dive into Moroccan culinary traditions with a hands-on cooking class with a local family. Learn to prepare authentic dishes like tajine or zaalouk under the guidance of a local host. End the experience by enjoying the delicious meal — a flavorful memory to take home. Leisure time for the rest of the day. Overnight at your hotel. Meals: Breakfast & Lunch (as a part of cooking class).

Day 6: Essaouira Escape (2 & half hour drive approx. per way excluding stops)

A day trip across the stunning landscapes to the coast. Along the way we will stop to see the argan trees where small goats climb up the low branches and feed. Also along the way we will stop at a women’s cooperative where argan oil is produced. The oil is extracted from the kernels of the tree and is a delicious accompaniment to a Moroccan bread meal. The oil is also used as a beauty product for skin and hair treatment. The day trip to Essaouira from Marrakech arrives in the resort and port city where you will see the vast expanse of the North Atlantic Ocean. The vibrant old town (medina) is a world heritage site. Old brass cannons line the walls and ramparts protect the sea front from ancient invasions. There is a long promenade on the beachfront where a sandy beach welcomes bathers and those who wish to relax in the sun on the golden sands. Late afternoon return back to Marrakech. Overnight at your Hotel. Meals: Breakfast.

Day 7: Marrakech

Explore Marrakech on your own – treat yourself to a relaxing spa & hammam or go treasure-hunting in the souk. Evening folklore dinner show. Overnight at your Hotel. Meals: Breakfast & Dinner.

Day 8: Marrakech – Marrakech Airport (20 minutes drive approx. depending on the traffic)

After breakfast our driver will assure your transfer and assistance to the airport for the return flight. Meals: Breakfast.
